A scratchpad that's always one shortcut away.

Press ⌘⇧J in any app and a note appears. Jot the number, the link, the list. It styles itself as you type, adds up your expenses, and stays plain text underneath. Esc, and it's gone until you need it.

macOS 14 or later. Apple silicon and Intel. Your notes are plain files on your Mac. Nothing leaves it.

One shortcut, from anywhere

⌘⇧J shows the note on top of whatever you're doing; Esc hides it. Scratch is always there for the quick stuff, and up to eleven named tabs hold the things you keep coming back to. Resize it, move it, it remembers.

Markdown that stays plain text

Type **bold**, _italic_, # headings, - [ ] checkboxes and links, and they look the part as you type. Underneath it's still text, so what you copy pastes cleanly into Slack, mail or code.

Math where you type it

Start a line with = and the result shows at the end of it. Percentages, parentheses, 1.5k. Finish a list with = sum and it adds up. Click a result to copy it.

Questions and answers.

Where are my notes stored?

Each tab is a plain Markdown file in ~/Library/Application Support/SupaJot/Notes on your Mac. Time Machine backs them up, and you can open them in any editor while SupaJot is quit. Closing a tab moves its file to the Trash, so nothing is lost by accident. There is no account and nothing is uploaded.

Does it sync between Macs?

Not in 1.0. SupaJot is a local scratchpad by design; sync support is on the list for a later version. Your notes are plain Markdown files, so you can back them up or copy them like any other file.

⌘⇧J already does something in Chrome.

Yes, it opens Chrome's downloads. Global shortcuts win, so while SupaJot runs ⌘⇧J shows the note. Change SupaJot's shortcut in Settings → General, or Chrome's in chrome://extensions/shortcuts, whichever you use less.

Which Markdown is supported?

Bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, three heading levels, bullet and numbered lists, checkboxes, links and horizontal rules. The markers stay visible but dimmed, so the text is never ambiguous. There is no preview mode: the note is the text.

What can the math do?

Arithmetic with + − × ÷ ^ and parentheses, percentages in the forms people type (20% of 350, 350 + 20%), 1.5k and 2m, and = sum or = total to add up the lines above. Results follow your system's number format. Variables, units and currencies are not in 1.0.

How does the trial work?

Everything is unlocked for 14 days, no account needed. After that the Scratch tab, the styling and the math keep working for free; the named tabs become read-only until you enter a license key.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Write to support@supatools.app within 14 days of buying and you'll get your money back.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel.
